Shelar Sanitation goes the extra mile to give you the best possible septic tank pumping. We use a Power Blender to mix up the heavy solids and paper before we pump your tank. That is perhaps worth an extra $100 dollars in value, but we do not charge for that added value. What it means is you get a professional clean out when you use Shelar Sanitation to pump your septic tank.
Shelar Sanitation has been installing new septic systems since 1950! In that time we have installed thousands of new systems. We can help you get the permit from the county health department. This involves meeting you at your site, making a preliminary drawing, submitting it to the County Health department, calling Miss Digg, and then doing a perc test to get the final approval. Once the permit is approved, we can then give you a final price base on what the County approves for your location.
We have special probes and that we use to help you find your septic tank and drywells. Normally, a septic tank is about 12 to 15 feet out from the main sewer line out of the home. It is always a good idea to get a copy of your septic system map from the County, by calling 517-788-4433 for Jackson County, MI. Or you can email your requests to ehealth@mijackson.org The map will show the size of your tank and give you a general idea of where to do some test digging or probing on your own.
We sell and install Septic Risers and Lids. Why keep digging up your septic tank lids, just install risers and lids and never worry about emergencies in the future. Risers are $50 per foot. The green lids are about 3/4 inch thick and have a gasket that seals against the riser. You simply measure from the tank towards the surface and stop about one inch from the surface if you want the lid to be flush with the surface. We will cut the riser to any length you need. You can save the delivery fee by coming to 1478 Falahee road to pickup a riser and lid. We suggest you call first to ensure someone is in the office at 517-764-1650
